If ever there was a western pleasure breeding stallion with the brilliant allure of genetic giants in its pedigree, it would lead you to the likes of the great Monticello V. By Jullyen El Jamaal – unarguably one of the greatest western pleasure sires in history – and out of one of Varian Arabians most prolific broodmares, Mosquerade V (by Huck out of the incomparable Khemo daughter, Moska), Monticello V is now playing his own concerto, carrying on the prolific pedigree of his royal ancestors... and doing it beautifully.

Monticello V enjoyed a highly decorated career in the show ring (see below), amassing the highest titles in western pleasure at Scottsdale, Canadian Nationals and the U.S. Nationals. Now, he is siring champions of the same magnitude, already boasting the accolade of siring multiple national champions in both the purebred and half-Arabian divisions.

Between his resume and his siring prowess, Monticello V has been dubbed “The Western Phenomenon,” and rightly stands at stud in the royal Varian Arabian stallion barn, alongside some of the breed’s all-time greats. It is a fitting full circle, as Monticello V was foaled on those very grounds.

Monticello V unfailingly passes on his astounding beauty, unforgettable substance, profound athleticism, and endearing & willing temperament to every one of his foals, aligning him with the trademark qualities of Varian breeding stallions that are sought after around the world.

It doesn't get any better than this! Varian Arabians is delighted to welcome home Monticello V, the top winning son of *Jullyen El Jamaal. He has a lifetime total of 11 National titles in western pleasure, 7 of them National Championships or Reserve National Championships. Monticello V has proven himself to have the heart of a champion in the show ring by winning with professionals and amateurs, and he's also been a star in the breeding barn despite his busy show schedule. 89% of his shown get are champions!

Monticello V's champion get include four National winners in western pleasure. Three are 2017 National Champions: Mona Lissa SS, Honeys Rockin Cello (who won 3 National Championships in 2017) and Cello Shots SS. He;s also sired regional champions in halter.

Monticello V's success in the show ring and the breeding barn come from having two breed superstars as parents. His sire *Jullyen El Jamaal is the top siring son of his sire, U.S. National Champion Stallioon Ali Jamaal. At the end of the 2017 show season, *Jullyen El Jamaal had sired 72 National winners, and 85% of his shown get are champions. Monticello V's dam is the breed's all time leading dam of champions, Mosquerade V, dam of 15 champions, 8 of them National winners including National Champions in western pleasure, trail. hunt pleasure and working cow horse. Monticello V's dam line is the most successful at Varian Arabians as it represents generations of Varian Hall Of Fame Broodmares-Mosquerade V, Marigold V (9 champions, 3 National winners), Moska (9 champions, 3 National winners). Moska's dam Baychatka++ is a U.S. Top Ten Mare and National Champion producer, and her san *Bachantka, one of the three Varian foundation mares imported from Poland in 1961. Monticello V represents the best of Sheila Varian's passion and foresight as a breeder-let him sire a champion for you!
